Saturday at the Deer Head. Sunday in NYC for the ACLU.

Two shows this weekend, and I want to tell you about both.

Tonight, Saturday night, I’ll be at the Deer Head Inn in Delaware Water Gap with my good friend Walt Bibinger. Walt is one of those guitarists who makes the melody feel inevitable — the kind of player who never seems to be trying and yet is always exactly right. We don’t play together enough, which makes every time we do feel like something to savor. If you’re anywhere near the Delaware Water Gap, come out. Music starts at 7 and goes until 10. Music charge is $20 cash or $21 credit, with a $20 seat minimum.

Sunday evening I’ll be at Klavierhaus in New York City for a concert organized by my longtime friend and collaborator Steve Sandberg. This one is a little different. Steve put this together in direct response to what’s happening in our country right now — a benefit concert for the ACLU, whose work defending civil liberties has never felt more urgent or more necessary. Rather than looking away or falling into helplessness, Steve decided to do something. I’m honored he asked me to be part of it.

Admission is by donation. There will also be a livestream if you can’t make it in person.
